Ascribe to the Lord, all you families of nations, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the Lord in the splendour of his holiness. Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved.
I wish I could say that I woke up this morning and immediately picked up my praise and thanksgiving journal, but I didn't. I actually woke up to our seemingly weekly fire alarm testing. Kind of frustrating, especially since I didn't have to be at work today and probably could have spent another half hour or more sleeping. To tell the truth, it was most likely a good thing that it woke me up or I may have wasted the whole morning lazing in bed.
I'm excited that we don't have to completely come up with ways to praise God all on our own, because, really, that would so completely overwhelming that a person such as myself would find the task too daunting to actually begin tackling and I would give up before getting anywhere. Fortunately, for people like me, there are instructions in the Word on how to praise God. David is particularly good at telling is how we can praise God. He tells us that we should give God credit for the things He has created and the things that He has done for us. We should praise Him to the people around us everyday. We need to talk about how awesome He is and what He has done for us and what He can do for anyone who asks.
God is such an amazing and wonderful Creator. I find it hard to accept that He chose to create and love a woman like me. I am constantly making stupid mistakes and yet, He doesn't give up on me. I don't always share His amazing works with the people around me, and He still lets me enjoy His wonderful creation. My prayer today is that He would convict me on a daily basis to remember the great and wonderful things that He has caused to happen in my life.

How do we give praise to God in prayer?
-proclaim his name, tell him what you are thanking him for what
he has done, seek his face daily, and always remind him how thankful you are
for his salvation.
-Tell God that you love him.
Examples of Praise in the Bible
-David instructing the Levites to praise God in 1 Chronicles
16:7-36
- This passage reminds me that praising God is not always
some formal prayer someone taught you in Sunday school, you can express it in
so many ways. It also reminds me how important it is to praise God every day. My
favourite part of the passage is “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His
faithful love endures forever.”- 1 Chronicles 16:34(NLT) I like this verse because it’s a reminder to
me how faithful God is to me and everyone else.
